Cornell Road connects neighborhoods, businesses, and community destinations in Hillsboro. Both intersections, 17th Avenue and 21st Avenue, experience visibility challenges, dangerous turning conflicts and limited pedestrian access. As traffic volumes increase, improving safety along the corridor has become an important priority.
This project is supported by the Oregon Department of Transportation All Roads Transportation Safety Program, also known as ARTS. The project received more than two million dollars in ARTS funding and was selected for construction in the 2024 to 2027 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program cycle. The County Road Fund provides the local match.
